• “Don’t discard me because I’m old.” The Hebrew inscription on the facade of the 100-year old building was the inspiration that guided the reclamation and redesign of the new luxury apartments, previously a Jewish senior home.

We let the original architecture serve as a unique backdrop, preserving the original flooring, concrete columns, and exposed brick to incorporate the spirit of those who once lived there. Walls were removed to create spacious, open areas for residents to socialize, work and celebrate special events. Honoring these spaces with applied plaster finishes, custom wall murals and over 30 pieces of contemporary art created by Twin Cities artists were the pinnacle of the project.

This was truly an unforgettable design project, which unexpectedly led to my family enjoying one year of living in this historic building. While searching for our next home purchase, I had the privilege of witnessing residents and visitors utilize and enjoy the renewed beauty of this cherished neighborhood landmark.
